Konz-Karthaus: Series of events on the topic of "healthy aging"

The Konz care base and the district office are organizing the "Healthy aging" series of topics in the coming weeks. Various events are offered on the topics of nutrition and exercise.

Start of the series is on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 3 p.m with the Lecture "Eating with pleasure for older people" in the parish hall of the evangelical parish in Karthaus. Speaker is Bettina Ballat-Klein, nutrition expert of the AOK Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland.

The composition of the body changes with age. The body fat content increases, the water content as well as the bone and muscle mass decreases. Metabolism and physical activity are reduced. This also reduces the energy requirement.

However, not only the energy demand is changing. You may also notice changes in taste and smell, appetite and thirst, and food tolerance. In this lecture you will learn how you can stay fit into old age with an all-round healthy, varied diet.

At the end of the lecture, the participants will receive "a small treat" as a taste.
