In addition to viticulture, the many medium-sized businesses in the areas of trade, crafts and trade are characteristic of the city and associated municipality of Konz.
Therefore, many infrastructural improvements were made by the city and the local communities and new commercial areas - also in cooperation with the special purpose association "Business Development in the Trier Valley" - were identified.
Examples are the commercial and industrial areas "Saarmündung" in Konz-Könen and "Granahöhe" in Wasserliesch, which merge seamlessly into one another. The favorable traffic connections, which have been improved by the new B51 Könen bypass, increase the attractiveness of these commercial areas.
Companies such as Möbel Martin, Volvo and Tarkett (formerly Pegulan) - to name just a few examples - which settled in Konz decades ago - are now known far beyond the borders of the region and are partly internationally active. They are all proof of the attractiveness of Konz as a business location.
