Wasserliesch - village development concept

The updating of the village development concept should develop more concrete preliminary drafts for the most important village sub-areas and implement the ideas of the citizens and municipal councils in structural or organizational projects. The participation of the citizens is described in the moderation report.

The otherwise usual presentation of all general urban planning inventories and inventory analyzes is dispensed with, as these can be found in the village development concept of 2014. Instead, individual sub-areas are analyzed in terms of their existence, their objectives and their concept. With this investigation and the preliminary draft of a sub-area, the municipality can submit the first applications for funding and make the first votes on it.

The activities of the citizens in the network of recreational paths went very well, in addition to the existing thematic paths "Orchid Path" and "Meditation Path", 21 new paths were developed, including a cooperation with Tawern and a side jump to the Moselsteig Trail. Citizen participation serves to fire the imagination and to recognize the problems and to solve them mentally. Once the goals are clear, the way to them is often less complicated than many people think.

The moderation in the run-up to the concept accompanied people for a year in solving the problems and the sub-area concepts that followed took up the many constructive suggestions and worked on the structural aspects.

The first project of the village renewal concept was the establishment of a "Market meeting at the village square" be successfully implemented and completed. The aim was to make sensible use of the previously unused space. To do this, the building had to be renovated and remodeled. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate funded the total costs of around €200,000 with 60% from village renewal funds. You can find more information about the "Market Meeting" project HERE in this article.
