Primary school children paint Christmas card design for mayor
Santa Claus floats through the winter sky with his sleigh and reindeer, while on the ground, Kodo, the mascot of the Konzer-Doktor Citizens' Foundation, rejoices with a snowman over a brightly decorated Christmas tree. This image adorns this year's Christmas card from the mayor of the Konz municipality. It was designed by Feenja Witt, a fourth-grade student at the Tawern Elementary School. "The image beautifully expresses the joy of the Christmas season," said Mayor Guido Wacht.

The project is part of a traditional competition organized by the Konzer-Doktor Citizens' Foundation. Each year, children from a different school are invited to submit their creative ideas. First, the classes choose their favorites, and then the mayor decides on the final design.

During his visit to the Tawern primary school, Guido Wacht took the time to meet the young artists personally. "The children's imagination and creativity impressed me. It was really difficult for me to choose a motif," he said, and presented a gift for the class fund as a thank you.
