Konz: The Granastrasse/Schillerstrasse junction will be opened on Thursday

The work on the new traffic lights in the Granastrasse/Schillerstrasse intersection in Konz is expected to be completed by Thursday morning (November 16th, 2023). The junction will then be opened to traffic again.

The new traffic light was one of the reasons why the LBM wanted to modernize the intersection area. It is switched depending on traffic and reacts more flexibly to the current local traffic.

The major project began during the summer holidays. In addition to the traffic lights and roadway renewal, work was carried out on power, internet and water pipes, among other things. In addition, sidewalks were renewed and barrier-free crossing aids were created.

Unplanned, it became apparent during the construction work that work on various lines and the roadway would also be necessary further along Schillerstrasse. This area was reopened to traffic last week.
