Construction work on the banks of the Saar in Konz: changed traffic management from Monday

In Saarstraße in Konz, the Saar bank in the area in front of the donut roundabout is currently being redesigned. In the future, seating steps on the shore will invite people to linger. In addition, among other things, the cycle path will be widened. Due to delays in the delivery of materials, however, the construction schedule is now being adjusted: work that was originally planned for the end of the construction project is now taking place earlier. Therefore, from Monday, October 17, 2022, there will be some changes to the traffic routing in Saarstrasse.

The construction work makes it necessary to close half of Saarstrasse. After consultation with the various actors and the police, it was therefore decided not to affect traffic in the direction of Filzen-Hamm. However, if you want to drive from Filzen-Hamm in the direction of Konz, you will be diverted within the city. This diversion leads via Bahnhofstraße and then via Schillerstraße and Granastraße to the donut roundabout.

Anyone who wants to drive out of the bridge road at the organic market is also affected. From Monday, turning onto Saarstraße is only possible in the direction of Filzen-Hamm - no longer in the direction of the roundabout. Residents can drive down Saarstrasse to the construction site.

The half-way blockage of Saarstrasse is expected to last until shortly before Christmas.
