Information and transmission blocks in the population register entry information block

It is recommended that you contact the competent authority before applying and find out whether a ban is possible in your case.

The blocking of information is entered on request. When you submit your application, you must present facts and make them credible as to why providing information could endanger your life, health, personal freedom or similar interests worthy of protection. The application can be made in writing or in person by visiting the authority.

Your details will then be checked by the competent authority. If this check reveals that the corresponding requirements are met, a 2-year ban on providing information will be noted in the population register, which applies to all types of information from the population register to private individuals and non-public bodies.

The block only applies to the apartment for which it was applied for.

You can have the information block extended after the time has expired.

• In order to block information, you must provide the local registration authority with credible reasons that make it clear that you or others are at risk.
• A review of your information must confirm the danger you have cited.

The blocking of information ends after 2 years and can be extended upon request.

A blocking of information in the population register is only entered under strict conditions.

To do this, you must make it credible that you or another person could be at risk of life, health, personal freedom or similar interests worthy of protection as a result of information from the population register.
