After the death of the license holder of a restaurant business, the spouse, life partner or minor heirs may continue to run the restaurant business without their own permission during the minority. The same applies to estate administrators, estate curators or executors of wills for a period of up to ten years after the inheritance. You must notify the competent authority in writing without delay if you wish to continue the restaurant business and report the start of the business to the responsible municipality.

- Death certificate of the permit holder
If the report is filed in person, the identity card or passport must be presented. In the case of a notification by an authorized representative, a power of attorney must be presented.

What else should I know?
However, the person authorized to continue the business can also obtain a permit in accordance with the Restaurant Act. This would be an option if he/she would need a permit anyway when adding rooms.
