Land Use Plan for Renewable Energies
Update of the land use plan for the sub-area "Renewable Energies" (2017), 1st amendment Isolated positive planning pursuant to Section 245e of the German Federal Building Code (BauGB) - Public notice of the public display pursuant to Section 3 Paragraph 2 of the German Federal Building Code (BauGB)
The Konz municipal council resolved at its meeting on October 30, 2025, to initiate the procedure for amending the "Renewable Energies" section of the land-use plan by means of an isolated positive planning decision pursuant to Section 245e of the German Federal Building Code (BauGB). The planning concerns an area in the Krettnach district. This area is located east of the village of Obermennig, bordering the city of Trier and the Trier-Land municipality, and offers space for two wind turbines.
Since the area “Gemarkung Krettnach” was already classified as potentially suitable in the land use plan procedure for the sub-area “Renewable Energies” until 2017 and was not pursued further due to a state target (at least three installations per area) that had since been dropped, it can be assumed that the basic principles of the wind energy concept are not affected.
Following the early public participation phase from January 5th to February 6th, 2026, the municipal council approved the draft of the isolated positive planning proposal at its meeting on June 25th, 2026, and resolved to conduct the public display of the plan in accordance with Section 3 Paragraph 2 of the German Federal Building Code (BauGB). Further planning will proceed, taking into account the legal amendments, also as an acceleration area pursuant to Section 6 of the Wind Energy Land Use Requirements Act (WindBG) in conjunction with Section 249 of the German Federal Building Code (BauGB).
The public display pursuant to Section 3 Paragraph 2 of the German Federal Building Code (BauGB) will take place from
July 13 to August 14, 2026 inclusive
