Visit LUGA and Aquatunnel in Luxembourg
Actively pass on news from the Action Group for Lifelong Learning and Knowledge
The action group Lifelong Learning, Actively Sharing Knowledge visited the LUGA and the Aquatunnel in Luxembourg.
The excursion began on June 25, 2025, with a train ride to Luxembourg City. A guide welcomed the group there in bright sunshine and led them first by tram to Luxembourg City's Old Town. There, the most beautiful sights were shown and explained in an entertaining and informative manner. The tour then led to the first LUGA exhibitions in the park of the Fondation Pescatore and through the city park with the Königswiese. There, visitors could also admire impressive installations.
On the way to the Pétrusse Valley, visitors marveled at the art made from natural materials and flowers, as well as the architecture of the Adolfs Bridge. A highlight was the passage through the 900-meter-long Aquatunnel with a sound installation, which runs 60 meters beneath Luxembourg City and is normally closed to the public. The return to the Upper Town was made possible by taking the panoramic elevator, which offers impressive panoramic views all the way to Kirchberg.
Finally, the route led to the Corniche, the balcony of the city of Luxembourg with a view of the Alzette valley, Neumünster Abbey and the vineyard.
Afterwards, there was plenty of free time to cool off or stroll through the alleys before heading home.
