The children of the first class of the elementary school in Nittel greeted their visit with a surprised "Good morning!". "What could be in there?" the little newcomers asked themselves. The surprise packages were great. Together, the first councilor of the Konz municipality, Guido Wacht, and Christian Nathem, municipal manager at Westenergie, handed over a total of 40 drinking bottles to the first graders.

"I am pleased that we can make a contribution to giving the children a good start in the new phase of their lives," explained Christian Nathem from Westenergie. Guido Wacht from the Konz municipality added at the handover: "We hope that the drinking bottles will always be filled with a refreshing drink. In this way, the children can learn at a very early age to do without superfluous packaging and to avoid waste.”

The sustainable "Carve 'School'" drinking bottle with a capacity of 0.7 liters is ideal for school, sports and leisure. The two practical, opposite recessed grips ensure a secure hold - even with small hands. The campaign for first-graders has now become a tradition for Westenergie: since 2006, girls and boys have been able to look forward to more than 850,000 presents.

Background: In addition to energy supply, Westenergie is traditionally involved in the areas of sports, culture, social affairs, climate protection and education in its partner municipalities. Through sponsorships and partnerships, the company supports both small initiatives and large clubs in order to shape the future together with local people, also on a social level. The first-grader campaign is part of the 3malE educational initiative.
