On May 9, 2021, Sophie Scholl would have been 100 years old. Especially today she is and remains a shining example and an encourager against hate and hate speech. The SPIEGEL bestselling author Tim Prose has had around 170 readings so far, around 70 of them in schools. He had the most – and most emotional – appearances with his long-seller “Century Witnesses. The message of the last heroes against Hitler”. In it he portrays 18 resistance fighters and survivors of the Nazi terror - first and foremost Sophie Scholl. And because the special story of this heroine deeply moved so many people on his reading tours, Tim Prose has decided to offer a scenic lecture and a homage solely to Sophie Scholl from 2021.
The occasion is her 100th birthday.
Tim Prose received previously unknown documents from Sophie's sister Inge Aicher-Scholl, whom he accompanied for a long time. The "Memories of Munich" tell a very private and very haunting account of the last days and hours of the resistance fighter and her brother. Also from the visit of the parents in the death wing of the Munich prison.
At the event, Tim Prose shows rare pictures by Sophie Scholl and enters into a lively exchange with the audience.
