Village renewal: private funding

  • service description

Village renewal aims to support sustainable and future-proof development of the village and to preserve and further develop the village as an independent residential, working, social, and cultural space. Maintaining and strengthening the functional diversity of villages in economic, ecological, social, and cultural terms is a key objective of village renewal. The key tasks of village renewal include structural improvement measures, which primarily contribute to the stabilization and strengthening of village centers.

    Promotions:

You can receive grants for the following projects, for example:

    • Creation, maintenance and development of village-appropriate community facilities, such as multi-purpose buildings, spaces for communal and community use, and the design adaptation to the local landscape,
    • construction measures within the local area to maintain and create new jobs close to residential areas, provided that you cannot claim economic development funds for this purpose,
    • investment projects to create needs-based public and civic facilities to promote local basic services, the village community and village culture, such as village shops, village cafés, etc.,
    • Demolition of buildings in the inner area that are not worth preserving in order to address urban development deficiencies and to create an orderly urban development, including desealing and disposal of the resulting demolition materials on the basis of a meaningful village renewal/development concept for the inner development and revitalisation of the town centres,
    • Creation, maintenance, improvement and development of village-friendly open spaces, squares, inner-city connecting roads and leisure and recreational facilities – here particular attention must be paid to climate-friendly design,
    • Structural measures for the renewal, conversion, extension and expansion of older buildings with courtyards and green spaces that characterise the local area and the landscape, including interior fittings and additional expenditure related to monument preservation, energy efficiency and building ecology.

The grant amounts to up to 35 percent of the eligible expenditure per project, up to a maximum of €30,000, per project. For construction measures within the local area to maintain or create new jobs close to residential areas, provided no economic development funds are used for this purpose, the grant can be increased to up to €41,000.
