The cities in Germany, their centers and quarters fulfill the most diverse functions for the people who live and work there. They have different importance to the 'functioning' of a city, and there are also diverging issues that can prevent optimal development in these places. The urban development funding programs reflect the diverse requirements and problem references to today's urban development tendencies. These differ on the one hand between the cities and regions, but on the other hand also within a city or a place. The urban development funding programs address the challenges that arise from socially, economically, demographically and ecologically sustainable urban development.
The city of Konz is currently participating in the following urban development funding programmes:
• social city (Konz-Karthaus)
• Active city and district centers (Konz Center)
