If you receive state social benefits, you can be exempted from the broadcasting fee in certain cases.

ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio contribution service in Cologne.
Necessary documents
- when receiving social benefits
- Proof of receipt of one of the social benefits mentioned in the original (approval notice or certificate from the social benefits agency)
- in the case of a severe disability:
- Current medical certificate of deaf-blindness in the original or
- Severely handicapped pass with the mark "Bl", "Gl" or "RF"
- Certificate from the pension office about the degree of hearing and visual impairment or
- Current approval notice or certificate from the authority on the receipt of benefits according to Section 72 Book Twelfth of the Social Code (SGB XII) or Section 27d of the Federal Pensions Act (BVG)
- in cases of hardship
- the rejection notice from the social service provider if the income limit is slightly exceeded as a special case of hardship
- further evidence if necessary
You will not receive the certificate from the authority or the service provider back.
