“Too many emotions” – with Anna Piechotta

The city of Konz presents a fun, witty and extremely musical evening with the award-winning chansonniere and cabaret artist Anna Piechotta:

"As we all know, psychological puberty begins at around thirteen. Anyone who thinks it's over at sixteen is wrong. Because I'm not really into it until I'm in my early forties!"

Okay, an artist needs strong emotions. How else is she supposed to write moving songs? But I definitely have too many of them: There's the urge to save the world, the joy of old age, the fear of aging, the desire to poison my dog, the guilty conscience because I want to poison my dog, the longing for the great Hollywood love, the desire for casual sex, the craving for high-calorie food, the unconditional love for my child, and the hatred of mothers who can do crafts.

How do you deal with all these emotions? How can I filter them? I have no idea. But I'll try—in my songs."

Anna Piechotta was recently awarded the prestigious Bavarian Cabaret Prize 2023 (Music), and the Süddeutsche Zeitung writes: "The pianist with the furious voice... Piechotta manages to conjure up a wow atmosphere in the hall in just a few minutes. How one would have loved to listen longer."
