Urban artwork in Wiltingen is finished

First the sports field, now the wall – following the modernization of the sports field in Wiltingen, the more than 140-meter-long wall along the side of the field has also been given a facelift in recent weeks. It has been transformed into a massive urban work of art.

As part of a summer project run by Mobile Youth Work in the Konz district, twelve young people from Wiltingen redesigned three elements of the long graffiti wall. Through collaborative discussions and creative exercises with the Trier-based artist agency Urban Drips, the young people developed motifs on themes such as home, solidarity, culture, sports, and nature, and artistically realized their ideas. After the workshop, Urban Drips completed the complete work of art.

In addition to the redesign, preparatory maintenance measures were carried out on the wall, for example, joints were renewed, cracks were repaired, and surfaces were filled.

The project of the Konz municipality was made possible with financial support from the LEADER funding program of the Moselfranken Local Action Group (LAG).
