Konz City Library will move in 2026

The Konz City Library is facing an exciting transition period. To allow for extensive renovations to the building it currently houses, the library will temporarily relocate in January. From February 2026, you will find the City Library in Administration Building II, Am Markt 11, on the first floor.

These premises, which housed the municipal building authority until the summer, are currently being renovated for the city library. From February, visitors can expect a modern, easily accessible temporary location with the usual range of services until the newly renovated premises at the original location at Konstantinstraße 50 can be occupied again.

To ensure the move goes as smoothly as possible, the city library team would appreciate your help. And it's very easy: simply borrow books and other media!

From December 1, 2025, all users can borrow as many items as they like for a longer period than before. The loan period will be extended from 4 to 12 weeks. This will give you plenty of time to browse while the move is being prepared and carried out. Items can then be returned no earlier than February 24, 2026 – at the temporary location in Administration Building II.

The following are excluded from the extended loan period:

• Tonies
• board games
• Media from the "Library of Things"
• New acquisitions

Due to the relocation, the city library will be closed from January 19th to 30th, 2026.
