“Queen Victoria” with the Trier author Elisa Jakob

The city and city library of Konz cordially invite you to a special literary event: The Trier author Elisa Jakob presented at Friday, February 6, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. her new book “Queen Victoria” in the Konzer-Doktor-Bürgersaal (Wiltinger Straße 10-12, Konz).

The historical novel is set in 1865: Victoria, ruler of an empire where the sun never sets, has completely withdrawn from public life—thus jeopardizing the very existence of the crown. In the 28 years since her accession, she has borne nine children, survived six assassination attempts, and built the British Empire into the largest in world history, with hundreds of millions of subjects. But a devastating blow of fate strikes her, and she stands at a crossroads: Can she once again place the crown above all else, overcome her grief, and become the most powerful ruler in the world?

Elisa Jakob takes visitors on an impressive journey into the 19th century. The reading also offers a wonderful opportunity to meet the author personally and ask questions about her work.
