New Commissioner for People with Disabilities Appointed
She is 44 years old, a mother of three children, and lives in Nittel: Nina Feit is the new Commissioner for People with Disabilities in the Konz municipality. From now on, she will represent the interests of citizens with cognitive and physical impairments: she advises, informs, and supports those affected and their families. As Commissioner for People with Disabilities, she also works towards the implementation of inclusion and accessibility, both in politics and administration, for example, in the implementation of construction projects, and in society.
Nina Feit had applied for the public tender and, along with other candidates, presented herself to the Konz Municipality's Main and Finance Committee a few weeks ago. At the subsequent council meeting on June 26, 2025, all political groups in the body voted in favor of her as the new appointee. Therefore, Guido Wacht, the full-time councilor of the Konz Municipality, warmly welcomed Nina Feit to the town hall to officially present her with her certificate of appointment.

Nina Feit thanks the VG Council for the trust they have placed in her. "I look forward to the challenges ahead, to engaging with the citizens, and to working with all the committed local stakeholders," she said at her appointment at City Hall.
"My own disability has accompanied me since childhood – it's a part of my life and has shaped me. Through my children, I also experience every day how central equal participation in all areas of life is for our society. Because it affects not only individuals, but our community as a whole," Nina Feit continues.
"For me, one thing is clear: Disabilities are a fact – but never an argument for exclusion or discrimination. Inclusion means that all people – regardless of limitations – have equal opportunities for participation, co-creation, and self-determination. Therefore, I want to advocate for the needs of people with disabilities to be heard and taken seriously, and I want to contribute to breaking down barriers, improving structures, and connecting people with each other."
