Referendum on the “Old School” in Kanzem

“Should the Old School Kanzem be preserved?” – that is the question that will be on the ballot in a referendum on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Specifically, the vote concerns a fundamental resolution passed by the local council in May 2024. At the time, the majority of council members voted in favor of demolishing the unused building. Demolition will eliminate renovation and maintenance costs for the increasingly deteriorating building. The property is to remain in public ownership.

However, not all Kanzem residents agree with this view. They say the "Old School" in Kanzem is a building that defines the village and is worth preserving.

All Kanzem residents who are also eligible to vote in the local elections can vote in the referendum. The voting office in the Kanzem Community Center will be open on November 9, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please bring the voting notification, which was sent in advance to eligible voters, as well as your identity card or passport.

Voting by mail is also possible: simply scan the QR code on the voting notification and request documents.
