Kick-off for the Reading and Reading Summer 2025

Young "reading monsters" enthusiastically cut the symbolic ribbon at the Konz City Library, and then quickly moved on to the 1,600 new books that had been purchased especially for the Reading and Reading Aloud Summer. This campaign, which has enjoyed great popularity for years, allows children and young people to borrow current books and win prizes until August 24, 2025!

The Reading Summer is aimed at 6- to 16-year-olds. The Reading Summer is aimed at daycare children who cannot yet read.

This year’s sponsors were also present at the opening of the reading and reading aloud summer.

At the opening ceremony, Bernhard Marx, the First Deputy Mayor of the City of Konz, emphasized the importance of reading for cognitive and language development and thanked the sponsors of this year's campaign: Sparkasse Trier and Volksbank Trier Eifel eG, the Lions Club, the Elenz company, the "Zukunft in Trier-Saarburg" foundation, the Nikolaus Koch Foundation, and the Reh Foundation. With their financial support, the books for the summer campaign could be purchased.
