Pedestrian traffic check in Konz: It's starting!
Citizens, together with politicians and administrators, are investigating the conditions for pedestrian traffic in Konz as part of a pedestrian traffic check.
The first Workshop starts on Monday, May 13 at 5 p.m. in the Konzer-Doktor-Bürgersaal (Wiltinger Str. 10-12, Konz). Here, routes and topics for the walks will be determined together: Which locations should be visited? Where can the quality of pedestrian traffic be improved? Everyone is welcome to participate; registration is not required.
The joint inspections will take place on Monday, June 23, at 5 p.m., and Tuesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. Issues will be addressed and discussed on-site. The start and end points of the inspections will be determined and announced at the kickoff meeting. On September 1, the compiled results of both inspections will be presented, followed by an in-depth discussion of possible solutions and a discussion of next steps.
Background: The city of Konz applied for and won the Pedestrian Traffic Check from the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Transport. The goal of the project is to raise awareness of the importance of pedestrian traffic among residents and municipal decision-makers, focus on the interests and needs of pedestrians, and also strengthen civic participation. The state is covering the costs of the Pedestrian Traffic Check.
