Visit from two twin cities

This week, two delegations from different twin towns visited Konz. A group of students from Puck, Poland, explored the region together with students from the local high school and also stopped at Konz Town Hall. The town twinning between Konz and Puck has existed for 23 years. The Trier-Saarburg district is celebrating its 25th anniversary of its partnership with the Puck district this year.

A delegation from Brienon was also in attendance. The new mayor of the French twin town, Eric Coursimault, introduced himself – accompanied by citizens who have been committed to the friendship between Konz and Brienon for decades.

Eric Coursimault thanked everyone for the warm welcome in Konz and emphasized how important the partnership is: “It creates encounters, opens up new perspectives for our young people and revitalizes the cultural, social and economic life of our regions.

The mayor of Konz, Guido Wacht, and Eric Coursimault would like to work towards intensifying this cooperation, e.g. in the area of children and youth, through the exchange of experiences in urban development and joint cultural and sports projects.
