In production plants, egg packing stations and slaughterhouses, as well as in wholesale and retail distribution centers (the so-called "bottlenecks" of marketing), agricultural products of animal and plant origin are checked by quality controllers to ensure that they comply with uniform EU and German quality standards and trade classes. Uniform quality criteria facilitate Community trade and thus ensure that the population is supplied with consistently high quality products.
