Mayor's visit to primary schools in VG Konz

Appointment with the mayors! Mayor Joachim Weber visited primary schools in the municipality of Konz together with the respective local mayors twice. The reason: the children had expressed wishes.
For example, Joachim Weber was at Tawern elementary school together with local mayor Thomas Müller. The children in the student parliament wrote a letter to the two of them. In it they expressed their wishes for the design of the school's outdoor area, e.g. more space for the slide and a flower bed. There was an on-site appointment with the children to discuss the details.

Joachim Weber brought the responsible employees from the VG administration with him, so that it is now clear that a new slide can be built at another location on the property. Thomas Müller offered the children two beds from the local community directly in front of the elementary school to plant. The children enthusiastically said “Thank you!”
A primary school class from Nittel also wrote a letter to Joachim Weber. She wanted barrier-free access to two playgrounds for classmate Tim, who is in a wheelchair.

Desired – checked. Employees from the VG administration went straight out and saw what was possible where. With good news in their luggage, Mayor Weber, local mayor Peter Leo Hein and the team from the civil engineering department met with the children and discussed the details.
Local mayor Hein promised that a community worker would soon take care of the new paths. And: new, barrier-free play equipment should even be purchased. The students were happy that Tim would be able to take part in everyday life even more in the future than before.
