Visit to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg
Action group “Lifelong learning, actively passing on knowledge” on their way to visit the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg
On May 11, 2026, 30 interested members traveled to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. There, they received a very interesting presentation, which was easily understandable even for non-lawyers. Based on current cases, they learned more about the influence of jurisprudence on our daily lives. This was followed by a very interesting guided tour of the impressive building complex.
The Court of Justice is the highest court of the European Union. It ensures that EU law is respected and applied uniformly throughout the European Union. It consists of 27 judges and 11 advocates general. Of its approximately 2,400 staff members, 1,000 are translators in 24 official languages with 552 language combinations for the written translations of judgments, and 70 are simultaneous interpreters for oral proceedings. The library contains approximately 365,000 volumes.
Despite the rainy weather, the journey home was marked by enthusiastic faces.
