As part of the series of events "United in diversity - discovering and understanding Europe", the "Partnership for Democracy in the VG Konz" organized an educational trip to the European capital of Luxembourg on April 9, 2022. This offer was also gladly accepted by a large number of members of the Konzer action group "Lifelong learning, actively passing on knowledge".

During a 3-hour guided tour through the European district and the old town in Luxembourg, the participants learned all sorts of interesting facts about the development of Luxembourg as the European capital. This includes not only the financial sector with the banks and investment funds, but also the settlement of companies for the development of innovative products and processes, the Philharmonie, up to the development as the definitive location of the judiciary and financial bodies of the EU. Some buildings, such as the European Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European Investment Bank could be viewed from the outside. We then took the tram to the old town of Luxembourg. There the participants learned some information about the historical background of the city. The weather gods were kind to the group until the end of the tour. This excursion will certainly prompt some participants to make another visit on their own, perhaps to get to know the cultural and culinary side of the little country.

The series of events is organized by the coordination and specialist office of the Partnership for Democracy in the VG Konz and funded by the Federal Ministry for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal program "Live Democracy!"
