Remember to get your passport in good time before the holidays

The Citizens' Office of the Konz Municipal Association reminds residents to check the validity of their identity cards and passports before the start of the holiday season.
Anyone who wants to travel during the summer holidays and needs new identification documents should take care of this now and visit the Konz Citizens' Office. Application until delivery of the identification documents by the Federal Printing Office must be about four to five weeks Children also need their own identification documents for trips abroad.
NEW since 01.01.2024 : Children's passports can no longer be extended. When travelling within the EU, each family member needs an identity card; outside the EU, a passport.
Before travelling abroad, it is recommended to find out about entry requirements and recognition of documents from the Federal Foreign Office ( www.auswaertiges-amt.de ), contact the tour operator or the embassies.
To apply, you will need a Current biometric passport photo, the fee and the previous ID card are required. Because of the signature and fingerprinting, you must appear in person when applying. When applying for an ID card for people under 16 years of age / passport under 18 years of age, the presence of at least one legal representative is required. The second legal representative does not necessarily have to be present when applying. In this case, a written declaration of consent with a copy of the ID card is sufficient. A corresponding form is available on the homepage www.konz.de to find.
The following fees currently apply:
- Identity card: 37,00 €
for applicants under 24 years: €22.80
- Passport: 70,00 €
for applicants under 24 years: €37.50
For short-term needs, it is also possible to apply for a temporary passport, temporary identity card or an express passport - but this is associated with higher costs.

Monday 9.00 – 12.00 and 13.00 – 17.00
Tuesday 7.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.
Wednesday 7.30 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday 13.00 – 18.00
Friday 8.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.
