The town hall detectives are on the move in Konz

What exactly does democracy mean? How are democratic decisions made and what actually happens in the town hall? There will be answers to these and other questions on Thursday, June 15, 2023, on the market square in Konz. A democracy festival will start there at 3 p.m. under the motto "The town hall detectives - democracy begins with you".

On site, the play mobile Konz provides all kinds of fun with a bouncy castle, the roller track and many other play equipment. In addition, the little "detectives" can take part in a town hall quiz and after prior registration (by email to presse@konz.de ) at 4.30 p.m. take part in a tour of the town hall with Mayor Joachim Weber.

In the past few days, in preparation for the Democracy Festival, all pupils in the third and fourth grades of elementary schools in the Konz municipality have been given the learning booklet “Understand – The Town Hall”. This booklet gives the children an age-appropriate introduction to the topics of “local politics” and “local administration”. The project was funded by the partnership for democracy in the VG Konz.
