Carthusians celebrate district festival

Carthusians celebrate a district festival on May 22nd

After a four-year forced break due to Corona, the third edition of the district festival is coming up. At the Sunday May 22nd the Karthauser show on the new square at the evangelical church how colorful and varied their district is and what it has to offer.

It starts at 11 a.m. with a family service on that place. The official opening of the festival follows Inauguration of the new place by Mayor Joachim Weber. The square was created by the city of Konz with financial support from the federal and state governments as part of the urban development funding program "Social Cohesion (formerly Social City) Konz-Karthaus". After that it starts Stage program with dance, music, singing and theater contributions , in which not only many clubs but also day-care centers and elementary schools are involved.

Clubs and institutions from the district take care of that all day long physical well-being . There are different information booths of services and associations from Karthaus and one Theatrical performance, handicrafts, bouncy castle and roller coaster for the children .

As part of the district festival, the Photo exhibition "Carthusian Views" shown with old and new views of Karthaus in the evangelical church.

For the first time this year there will also be a children's flea market organized, where children can top up their pocket money and offer their discarded toys for sale. All children from Karthaus can participate. Prior registration at the district office (telephone: 06501 945 82 52) is required.

Around 30 groups, initiatives and associations are taking part in this year's edition, which is being organized jointly by the district management and the Protestant church community. For people who are no longer sufficiently mobile but would like to visit the festival, the Malteser offer a transport service.
