Marriage Certificate

If you intend to get married abroad, a certificate of marital status is required from the German spouse in certain countries. You can apply for this at your place of residence.

The following documents are required for this:

• Current birth certificate or a certified copy from the birth register,
• valid identity card/passport,
• Registration certificate (if the place of residence is outside the Konz municipality),
• proof of the last marriage and its dissolution.

A short telephone inquiry at the registry office is recommended.
