LBM: B 51 renovation between Tobiashaus and Wawern

The Rhineland-Palatinate State Mobility Authority (LBM) informs:

On Monday, August 31, 2026, construction work will begin on the renovation of the federal highway 51 between Tobiashaus and Wawern over a total length of approximately 1.4 km.

The construction project involves the renewal of the damaged upper asphalt layers; the gutters and edge strips will be preserved as much as possible.

The construction work is expected to last until September 18, 2026.

Due to the narrow road widths, the work can only be carried out under full closure to protect road users and construction site personnel and in accordance with nationwide binding regulations.

The traffic volume on the B51 in the relevant section is approximately 8652 vehicles/24h with a heavy goods vehicle share of 7.4%.

Road users are asked to use the signposted diversions.

The costs are borne by the Federal Republic of Germany with a total investment volume of approximately EUR 544,000.

The contractor is the company Kohl Bau GmbH & Co. KG from Irrel.
