Honorary citizen Manfred Wischnewski has passed away

The city of Konz mourns the loss of its honorary citizen Manfred Wischnewski.

For decades, he dedicated himself to our city with exceptional commitment. As a member of the city council, the municipal council, and as the city's first honorary deputy mayor, he significantly shaped the development of Konz. His work is still reflected today in numerous projects, including the redesign of the market square, the development of Karthaus Monastery into a cultural and conference center, and the construction of important educational and sports facilities.

Manfred Wischnewski has received numerous awards for his outstanding commitment to local politics and social causes, including the Federal Cross of Merit. In 2017, the city of Konz awarded him honorary citizenship.

His work and voluntary commitment will remain unforgettable in Konz. We will cherish his memory.
