Konzer Local Heritage and Wine Festival 2026

From the July 17th to 20th, 2026 The city of Konz is once again inviting guests to Local and wine festival around the town hall. This year, visitors can once again expect a diverse program with musical highlights, traditional elements, and activities for different age groups.

The festivities kick off on Friday evening with a reception for the visiting wine queens at the Konz Water Sports Club harbor. From there, they will travel by motorboat and then in a vintage car parade, accompanied by the Oberemmel Winegrowers' Band, to the festival grounds. At 8:00 p.m., the festival will be officially opened by the "Harmonie" Könen Music Association. During the opening ceremony, the candidates for the Saar-Obermosel Wine Queen title will be presented. Later in the evening, the "Rainbow" show dance group will perform, followed by a grand opening fireworks display with musical accompaniment, bringing the first day of the festival to a close. Afterwards, the band "Dancefloor" will provide unplugged music. Simultaneously, a DJ night with rotating DJs will take place on the HDJ stage behind Administration Building II.

On Saturday afternoon, a jam session will kick off on the festival grounds. In the evening, the band "Teamwork" will take over the main stage with party music. On the HDJ stage behind Administration Building II, up-and-coming bands and other regional artists will showcase their talents at "Newcomer on Stage."

Sunday morning begins with the 40th annual classic and vintage car meet hosted by the Konz Motorsport Club in the Möbel Martin parking lot. A celebratory church service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the festival grounds (or in St. Nicholas Parish Church if it rains). Around 11:30 a.m., the classic car parade will arrive at the festival grounds. In the afternoon, the TOPS Puppet Theater will present "Ki Ka Kasper and the Bank Robber" for children aged four and up. From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Konz mobile play unit will be open for family fun behind Administration Building II. The program on the main stage will be complemented by a performance from the junior group of the "Rainbow" show dance troupe. In the evening, "Soul & More" will provide musical entertainment. And starting at 9:00 p.m., the FIFA World Cup final will be shown live on a large screen on the stage behind Administration Building II.

The festival concludes on Monday with a musical entertainment program. In the afternoon, the duo "Lucky Lips" will perform, and in the evening the band "Viva La Vida" will play rock and pop music.

In addition to the stage program, numerous stalls offer a wide range of culinary delights. This year, the gourmet zone is operated by the Landgasthof Kopp; on the terrace of the Ratskeller, Falko Weiss offers traditional German cuisine.

Traffic changes before and during the holidays

Even during the setup for the local festival and wine festival, the entire market square, the parking lots behind the town hall, behind the administration building II and in front of the savings bank will be closed to public traffic.

Due to the construction of tents, stalls, and rides, the street "Am Markt" is no longer accessible to public traffic from either direction. Access for residents is possible via Schillerstraße, where feasible. Brückenstraße will only be accessible in the direction of Bahnhofstraße along its entire length.

For safety reasons, Schillerstraße (L 138) will be completely closed to traffic for the first time during the festival grounds (from Granastraße to Goethestraße). Residents will be able to access their homes by car during times when no active festival activities are taking place. Residents will be informed separately about this.

Buses and parking

During the local festival and wine festival, additional bus services will be provided. However, due to potential delays in the Schiller Bridge work during the summer holidays, two different bus stops will be set up for the special buses this year: Arrivals and departures towards Tälchen, Pellingen, and Wiltingen will be from Güterstraße behind the train station; all other arrivals and departures will be via the Konz-Mitte bus station on Granastraße.

The parking garage at Kaufland has limited availability for festival visitors: Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM. Please note: Vehicles may NOT remain in the parking garage overnight until the following morning! A pickup only the next day can be very expensive.

Bringing your own alcoholic beverages is prohibited.

During the festival, the use of alcoholic beverages and glass bottles is prohibited around the festival grounds and adjacent areas.

Administration opening hours

Due to the local heritage and wine festival, the municipal administration and the citizens' office will remain closed on Monday, July 20, 2026.

- Reception of the visiting wine queens at the harbor of the Konz water sports club and trip by motorboat to the landing stage on Saarstraße; afterwards, a vintage car parade with the Oberemmel winegrowers' band, initiated by the Konz motorsport club, to the official opening at the festival grounds.

8:00 PM:

- Official opening of the local and wine festival with the Könen "Harmonie" music association; presentation of the candidates for the Saar-Obermosel Wine Queen election; moderated by Alexandra Meusel
