Marketing measures for the marketing of barrier-free offers in the Saar-Upper Moselle model region

On May 17, 2018, the Konz municipal administration received a grant notice from the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture for the implementation of marketing measures in the Saar-Upper Moselle model region. The overall project of €54,640.00 is funded at 50% from the European Regional Development Fund and receives a grant of €27,320.00.

In 2015, the associated municipalities of Saarburg and Konz applied to the state-wide "Tourism for All" competition in Rhineland-Palatinate, and in February 2016 they emerged as one of ten winning regions from all over Rhineland-Palatinate from the competition organized by the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture .

Funding from the European Regional Development Fund is available for the development of accessible tourism. This is intended to promote various projects, conversions or extensions and offers that make "life on vacation" easier and more pleasant for holidaymakers and guests of all ages with restricted mobility or other activities.

Public investments in barrier-free tourist infrastructure and attractions, network and marketing projects as well as individual measures by accommodation and guest companies are funded.

The aim of the project is to expand barrier-free tourism in the Saarburg-Kell and Konz municipalities and thus strengthen the Saar-Upper Moselle holiday region in global competition. This is also against the background of demographic change.

A marketing concept was created for the successful application of the region, which is gradually being implemented, both in external and internal marketing. Part of the concept is the barrier-free redesign of the Saar-Obermosel-Touristik e for municipalities and tourism service providers in internal marketing
