To carry out a construction project, a building permit is often required. Once a building application has been submitted, the start of construction work for the excavation and for individual parts or phases of the project can be authorized upon request even before the building permit is issued (partial building permit). The permit can be extended upon request.
The extension may be subject to new conditions imposed by the building authority.

You must apply for an extension in writing to the lower building authority before the partial building permit expires.
Competent authority
The lower building supervisory authority responsible for issuing building permits is the district administration; in independent towns and large district towns, this is the city administration or the municipal association administration if it has been assigned building supervision responsibilities (Diez and Konz municipal associations).

Cost (variable): from 60.00 euros to 750.00 euros.
What deadlines do I need to consider?
You must apply for an extension in writing to the lower building authority before the expiry date of the partial building permit (4 years).
