Apply for a building permit for the construction of a facility
service description
The construction, modification, change of use and demolition of structures (e.g. buildings) require a building permit. However, this only applies insofar as nothing else is stipulated in the Rhineland-Palatinate state building regulations, such as in the catalog of projects that do not require a building permit, in the exemption procedure and projects that are not subject to building supervision.
A building permit must be granted if the project does not violate any building regulations or other public law provisions. The application for a building permit (building application) must be submitted to the local building authority.
The building documents that must be submitted with the building application are specified in particular in the state regulations concerning building documents and structural engineering reviews. The building application and the building documents must be the responsibility of a qualified designer who, for building applications, must be authorized to submit building plans.
The building permit is valid for four years. This period can be extended upon request. The application must be received before the deadline.
What fees apply?
Fees are charged for issuing the building permit, the amount of which is essentially determined by the type of approved project. These fees are charged according to the state ordinance on fees and remuneration for official acts and services under building law (special fee schedule).
