Election officials are citizens who are entitled to vote and who, on election day, serve as electoral officers or assessors on the electoral boards, oversee the voting process and determine the provisional election result in the electoral district.
Serving on an electoral board appointed by the local or city administration is an honorary position. Every citizen is obliged to take on the role and can only refuse for important reasons.
Municipal authorities are entitled to collect and process personal data from you as an eligible voter for the purpose of engaging you as an election assistant. You as the data subject can object to the processing for future elections.
Municipal authorities can request information from other authorities about their employees if they live in the municipality. This includes the surname, first name, date of birth and address. The persons concerned will be informed of this.
You must perform your duties impartially. You must maintain confidentiality regarding the matters that come to your attention. You must not cover your face while performing your duties.
