Burning vegetable waste

Plants and parts of plants that occur on land used for agriculture or horticulture outside of the built-up area may be burned on the spot if they cannot be added to the soil for agricultural reasons or because of their nature.

However, this is only permissible if the public waste management authority does not provide any waste disposal services (e.g. green cuttings landfill). For individual decisions or questions, please contact the regulatory office.

If you want to burn more than three cubic meters of plant waste outside of the built-up area, you must report it to the Konz Citizens' Registration Office. Please bring your identity card and the exact designation (district, field and plot number) of the cremation site with you.

There must be at least three working days between the notification and the actual burning. Burning can be done within 20 business days.

Please note:

is not allowed

1. burning within a minimum distance of
   a.) 100 m to forests, moors and heaths
   b.) 50 m to buildings of any kind and to public transport routes
   c.) 10 m to endangered neighboring crops as well as to adjacent cane and reed stands and field margins
2. burning between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. and on Sundays and public holidays
3. the co-incineration of non-vegetable waste, especially old tires
