Adhere to shop opening hours
service description
According to the Rhineland-Palatinate Shop Opening Act, sales outlets are permitted to remain open on working days from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, municipalities have the option of extending shop opening hours to 6 a.m. the following day on up to eight days a year; on Saturdays and working days before public holidays, this generally only applies until midnight.
To ensure that sales staff have a rest period on Sundays and public holidays and are able to work, sales outlets must remain closed on Sundays and public holidays. Municipalities may allow a maximum of four Sundays per year for shops to be open, with opening times of up to five hours.
