Apply for the establishment of trade fairs, exhibitions or markets

  • service description

    As an organizer you can

    • Measure,
    • Exhibitions and
    • Markets

    have it fixed.

This means that you are exempt from the regulations governing shop opening hours, Sunday and public holiday law, the Working Hours Act and the Trade Regulations. You can submit the application as a business person.

The determination includes the subject matter, period, opening times and location of the event. As long as there are no public interest concerns to the contrary, markets can be determined for a longer period or permanently. For trade fairs and exhibitions, however, this is only possible for events planned within two years.

It is your decision whether to apply for an event to be scheduled. However, events that are not scheduled are subject to the general regulations, for example

    • the travel trade license requirement,
    • the right to open shops,
    • the Working Hours Act and
    • the Sunday and public holiday protection law.

Without a determination, you may have to apply for exceptions to this from the relevant authorities.

A determination replaces these individual exceptions. You receive the so-called market privileges from a single source.

However, you also have to observe special obligations when making an assessment.
