Dog tax exemption
service description
If you are dependent on a dog because of your disability, you are usually exempt from the dog tax. However, the requirements in each community are different. An exemption often depends on whether the disabled person is dependent on being accompanied by a dog. The tax exemption applies to dogs that are indispensable for the protection and assistance of blind, deaf or otherwise completely helpless people. In addition, rescue dogs that have passed the appropriate training and examination are generally exempt from the dog tax
In most Rhineland-Palatinate municipalities, a tax exemption is currently granted - in accordance with the model statutes of the Rhineland-Palatinate Association of Municipalities and Cities.
