“Business Reception” 2026 in Konz
How will trade develop in the coming years? What strengths does the Konz location offer – and what framework conditions are needed to further increase its attractiveness? These were the questions at the "Business Reception" 2026, which took place this year in the cafeteria of Volvo Construction Equipment in Konz-Könen.
Mayor Guido Wacht welcomed the approximately 120 guests before Univ. Professor Dr. Prof. h.c. Bernhard Swoboda from the University of Trier presented current developments in the field of marketing and trade in a keynote speech.
The subsequent discussion, moderated by Rainer Neubert (Trierischer Volksfreund), focused on the implementation of new online strategies on site and the challenges posed by developments in consumer behavior, among other things.
Mayor Wacht, Professor Swoboda, Susanne Hellriegel (Möbel Martin), Stephan Holbach (Schuhhaus Holbach), Sabine Bast (expert Henkel + Bast) spoke on stage about their experiences: customers who consciously decide against online purchases, virtual reality glasses that can be used to furnish the kitchen, and apps that combine the online and offline shopping experience.
Mayor Guido Wacht also reported on projects aimed at increasing the quality of life in the city center – an important building block for strengthening the retail sector in Konz.
In conclusion, the Konz Trade and Service Association presented His plans for a new apprenticeship fair. A special career fair entitled "Job n Shop" will take place on March 14, 2026, in the Konz market square. Registrations are possible at: info@gewerbeverein-konz.de
During the subsequent informal part of the evening, guests had ample opportunity to chat over a glass of wine and a snack, to make new contacts and to further explore the topics of conversation from the evening.
