Pedestrian traffic check in Konz
The "Pedestrian Traffic Check" project in Konz started in spring 2025. The town had applied to the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Transport for the project and received approval. The aim of the project was to increase the quality of life and the overall experience of being in the town by creating pedestrian-friendly and barrier-free paths and public spaces.
During the summer months, two site visits were conducted in pre-defined areas of the city. In an initial workshop, citizens helped to determine the exact route, raise potential problems for pedestrians, and discuss possible solutions. A final workshop further explored these solutions and discussed potential next steps.
The measures proposed in the pedestrian traffic survey will be implemented gradually.
