Electrical box at the daycare center in Konz-Oberemmel becomes an art object
Together with the town of Konz, Westenergie made it possible to redesign the electrical box at the St. Karl Lwanga daycare center in Konz-Oberemmel. The goal was to visually enhance the technical installation. In a project of the mobile youth work program of the Konz municipality, the Oberemmel youth group worked with artists Julian Köster and "Pyrex" to develop ideas and then implement them.

Guido Wacht, mayor of the town and municipality of Konz, praised the young people who were involved in the project: "The creative design of the electrical box is a good measure to refresh the townscape."
The young people contributed numerous ideas, created sketches, and jointly decided on colors and shapes. A particular wish was to subtly integrate the names of all participants into the artwork. The final design consists of abstract, flowing forms that express dynamism and continuity. It is intended to symbolize the children's development in the daycare center and to blend harmoniously into its surroundings.
Westenergie municipal manager Christian Nathem said: “With projects like this, we strengthen the local partnership and create sustainable added value for the communities.”
