Siren test run on the nationwide warning day
The nationwide warning day will take place on September 10, 2026. The event aims to test the functionality of warning systems for potential weaknesses.
At 11:00 AM, tests will be conducted on digital warning methods, such as apps and "Cell Broadcast," which directly reaches many smartphones in Germany. The approximately 30 sirens in the municipality of Konz will also be tested for the first time. They were retrofitted in March with new siren control receivers, enabling them to emit the siren to warn the population in case of danger.
In addition, the volunteer fire brigades in Oberbillig and Konz will test the mobile warning systems, which are flexibly installed on the vehicles, on the nationwide warning day.
At an information stand in front of the town hall, interested parties can talk to members of the fire department about all questions relating to disaster protection.
